PIF 2004

December 11, 2004. A little over a month since we put the PIF group together, we witnessed our first PIF experience for this group. What a great way to kick off the Pay It Forward experience. This family is what the PIF concept is based on. When 3 strangers showed up on the Jones's doorstep, representing the many who donated, they found Lisa, Brenna, and Ashton baking cookies, and brownies for neighbors who were in a tough way. The Jones's knew the neighbors weren't going too have much of a Christmas because of the situation they were in, so they wanted to do something to help. Being in their own dire straights they managed to bake some cookies, and brownies, and Brenna & Ashton wanted to go through their own toys to find something good enough to give them for Christmas. These are the same people who heard of the PIF group, not having any extra money themselves, managed to scrape a few bucks together to kick and help out. Brenna heard about how the Hines Wing Group was raising money to help out a cancer victim earlier in the year, and kicked in her allowance to help out. What can I say, this is a wonderful, caring, and loving family. A family who has come upon hard times with Brad being laid off, then being in an accident on his Goldwing damaging his knee, then later finding out he needed another type of surgery which laid him up even longer. Today, December 11, 2004 the PIF group manage to pull some dollars together to help the Jones family out. $1150 isn't going to solve all their problems, but it will help them have a Merrier Christmas. Dave Basham, Al Schuman, and Greg Hayden represented the many PIF folks, and walked in to Brad, Lisa, Ashton, and Brenna's life's today to help them Pay It Forward. Hopefully we'll all meet up in May at Shawnee State Park in Portsmouth Ohio, so we can all meet, share some hugs, and Pay It Forward once again.
